...Um. Some people asked S-P how she did her lineart, so...

Here you go.

I think you need at least Photoshop 7 or above. I'm not sure, because I pretty much explored and taught myself stuff with the CS and CS2 versions, so I'm not familiar with earlier versions or other programs. You should also already have a pretty basic bit of knowledge of the program.

Please note that, when you click on the pen tool, make sure the palette on the top is selected to the "Paths" button/option, rather then the "shapes". If you're celshading using my "method", it doesn't really matter, but for path-stroking, it does.

Nice tutorial, what sized brush do you use?
Thank you. With celshade, I don't use a brush, unless it's to fill in the selection...with path stroking, usually a 2 px with 5 px pressurized overlay, and a 1 px for very fine details.
no bad ya, good... i will try it.....

This was really helpful. I never thought to ink this way. I usually just go over it with the brush tool XPP

Constructive criticism is loved!
^__^;;; if you have pen-tooled vector lineart you can just use fill so that there isn't any leak in coloring...
wonderful tutorial! >_<;
Just what I needed. ack.

*hearts* Thank you for this. @__@ I need it alot.
Ah-HA! I use the Polygonal Lasso method, though I've known about the pen tool for a while and despite the fact that it's obviously better I never use it. By the eternal laws of Photoshop, we must now become mortal enemies.

Nice tutorial, though. :3
